Seventh book in Department Q:
It has come to the attention of the management that the clearance rate in Department Q is far below expectations. The proof to the contrary lies with Rose, who has sunk into a psychotic swamp that draws long threads into a dark past. A past where a cruel crime may have been committed.
At the same time, an elderly woman is found murdered in Kongens Have and a mad driver has begun a deadly hunt for young women, while new crimes are being planned in a completely different location. Are these unrelated incidents, or is there a connection buried somewhere in the crimes?
Carl, Assad and Gordon face a puzzle of greater dimensions than ever, while their colleague Rose is in big trouble. The four-leaf clover has lost a leaf, but does this mean that luck has completely abandoned them? Will they be able to avoid the closure of Department Q, and will the murders in Copenhagen ever stop?
